GAME GAB: 9/8/12... It's All Part of The Plan...

Well now it's just embarrassing. 

Five and a half back. Beckett out there trying to do his part on the mound. A little help please. In my state of fury last night, I'm sure I said some things that I regret (which is why I waited till I simmered down a bit before writing). 





But at this point it's just down right embarrassing. Can't we win one when it really matters? In a recent interview, Stan Kasten, Dodgers president and CEO said  that "...we remain first and foremost a scouting and player development based operation." He also indicated that the recent Boston trade was consistent with the long term vision for the Dodgers.

OPINION ALERT:
Oh. Good. We've got em right where we want 'em. It's all part of the plan.

GIRL TALK: This is the equivalent of trying too hard: over accessorizing, wearing too much make up, donning a dress two sizes too small so that you think you look thinner, AND lying about your age by ten years younger ALL AT THE SAME TIME.  

No, the guys aren't looking in your direction  but not approaching you because they're intimidated by your drop-dead gorgeousness. They are laughing at you. And so are your friends (regardless of what they tell you to your face). Stop it. Admit you tried too hard, go wash your face, buy a decent dress and start over. Start fresh. And Geez Louise! No more leggings! Why those made a come back is beyond me. 



Ok, bottom line: the billionaires have spent too much money, time and effort TOO LATE in the season to be effective. Ir was over-kill from the start ...too bad it wasn't the start of the season! But to be fair, the new owners probably couldn't do much before the sale of the team was finalized at the end of April. By then the season had already started. They still could have done a few things earlier though. Then we might not be five and a half back right now.... after starting off with such a stellar record. Loney and Kennedy weren't "all that." Why weren't they traded earlier? Now Kennedy is out injured, and Loney took up valuable space too long. Why are you still wearing leggings?? They never worked and never will. Stop it.

Game time today: 1:05pm PDT. The best we can hope for as fans at this point is a good start next season. We can look to the future. The arithmetic says it can still happen this year, but who are we kidding?  Even if it did, we would get mauled in the playoffs, and it would be even more embarrassing. Time to scout the prospects for next year. IF we truly want to remain "first and foremost a scouting and player development based organization."
