Focus on the Positive

I have chosen to focus on the positive. *If you didn't see tonight's game, don't ask. What a great debut for Matt Magill, right? Great stuff to watch! Of course, I think there had to be a few butterflies at first, being called up to replace yet another on the DL...
(I am starting to think there might be a curse, but I'll save that for another post. Maybe.) Magill gave up a couple in the beginning before finding his stride, and he was poised to earn the win. He showed everyone what he could do, which helps immensely since we have HOW many pitchers on the DL now?? Grumble grumble... It's only April and we no longer have a plethora of pitchers. Wha' happened?? (I've always loved Bette Davis, and right now this look says it all for me.)

I would love to see more of Magill. I hope we do! We're gonna need strong pitching. Even when the others return, how 'bout making some room in the bullpen for Matt? Just sayin',... give the guy a chance. He just earned it. Among other things, Kemp had a couple of hits, average now .271. And Ethier had a home run tonight: well done! Third of the season, I believe. What I like about this Club right now, especially, is that EVERYONE is contributing. They are playing like a Team, as they should. With so many signing in on the DL like it's the latest #trend or something (or a curse I am starting to wonder, like someone has dropped a house on us or the DL monster is gonna come at us and squeal "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog Toto, too!" If anyone knows how to melt the wicked-curse-of the-DL let us know),- where was I...

with so many going on the DL, it's essential to have guys we can depend on, strong Utility Players that can be shuffled and be counted on to contribute. Hairston I have always thought deserves a permanent spot on the field. Shumaker, Punto, Sellers (didn't play tonight but still like him and his glove at Short Stop lots)... all these guys add something to this Team. They are out there doing what they need to do.GIRLS: It's like our friends and our guys- everyone plays a role for us, and they all get the job done: even our Friends each play a different role on our lives- we can have more than one Best Friend....
I liked when Charlotte and Miranda finally had a heart-to-heart....They came together to lend support when the other needed it. See? Like that.
Now all we just need to do is pull a few more things together and get the wins. This whole thing of having the Colorado Rockies in first in the West is driving me nuts. GO Blue! Game time 1:10 p.m. tomorrow. See you at the Ravine!
