August 11, 2012: POST GAME GAB: October Prom?

One thing about baseball: it's dependable. There is always a winner, and there is always a loser. Never a grey area. Even when a game is called because of rain or whatnot, it's either called in favor of one team or another, or it needs to be replayed. But there is always some sort of resolution. Tonight Dodgers were on the losing end of the stick, which leaves us one full game behind San Francisco. What I can appreciate about today's game is that it looked like the Boys were not going down without a fight. Even down by four runs, Ethier at the plate for what would be the final at bat of the game, he was swinging like he meant it. Gotta respect that.

Again, he's my fave for so many reasons. As it turns out, according to the announcers, this was the first game the Dodgers lost in the Eastern time zone this season. Huh. Hadn't really realized that till they said it. But they still played well. And after one more game with the Marlins tomorrow (10:10 am PDT), the Blue Crew moves onto a four game series with the Pirates and then three with the Braves. After that it really gets HUGE: three at home with the Giants. Here. We. Go.
Girl talk: Remember prom? Whether you went or not, had a date or not, went with a bunch of friends,... it was talked about, planned out (or not), and it was all anyone could think of or speak of for weeks. And if you didn't go, maybe you sat at home in the dark, or maybe you hung out with your parents or maybe you went out with other friends in protest. But either way, the anticipation and time leading up to it was either half the fun or all of the dread. WE NEED TO GO TO PROM. A.K.A. Playoffs. Post season. We're just not sure if we are going to be invited yet or not. Oh the suspense!

Stay calm. Have a dress picked out just in case. Don't panic and do stupid things out of desperation.... it just makes you look... desperate. Keep your dignity. And above all, when the Giants come to town (a.k.a. the "competition" for your invite to the prom), play nice yet pull out all your best tricks and WIN.

Girls wear the fave body spray, extra sparkly lip gloss (flavored- just more fun- personally like Bath and Body Works), sassiest heels...players (giggle) warm up in other ways to get ready: some will chip golf balls while others will require some serious cave time.

Boys, whatever you need to do.. DO IT. Get it done. Take us to October Prom. We don't want to keep waiting for the invite.

Game time tomorrow in Florida: 10:10 am PDT
