August 6, 2012: Post Game GAB: Tossed Salad

It's always "exciting" when someone gets tossed from a game. Manager or player. It's especially satisfying when the TV cameras offer a close up of the reversed call that upset someone so. Slow motion, replays, different angles,... all that stuff offers the home viewer an advantage lacking at the Park. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing better than being there live to see it right in front of you. But Scully's commentating and several replays give the home viewer something that the Stadium fan doesn't get. So when Victorino hits it to Fowler and it is called a catch, I'm at home having my doubts. Those doubts were put at ease when I see it's a trap. The ball bounced. Barely, but it bounced. Fowler can claim "Catch!" all he wants, but that doesn't make it true. And Jim Tracy can yell expletives all he wants but that doesn't make him right. The Umps reversed their call, something they rarely do. It was a bold move. And the right one. A lot of people would not want to see instant reply enter the baseball universe. I for one would LOVE it. To those who argue it would take too much time, I argue back look how much time Tracy stood out there arguing. (Note: he rarely did that when he managed L.A., so I have no sympathy for that tossed salad.) 'Nuff said.

Andre Ethier coming off the bench in the 8th was sweet. Too bad he only walked. But with the stakes as high as they were tonight, I can see why he was called upon: Giants AND Diamondbacks lost. Now was our chance to make up some ground. Of course, the inning ended up bust without scoring. Ethier is still my overall favorite. Like I said before, everyone should have a fave.  Great action shot- thank you ESPN !

Girl Talk: Ladies, ever see that perfect golden opportunity,... and then let it slip through your fingers? Yeah, about that. The pair of shoes we shoulda bought when they were on sale? Found these on ShoeBlog.com ... they're BLUE! What about the guy we shoulda dated-or the one that we did date- the "one that got away?"

There's always going to be that one little twinge of regret that we live with. I try not to live with any regrets, but it's impossible. Besides, without a little regret speckled in there, how are we supposed to learn anything in life, right? Lesson learned: when we see our blown chance, call ourselves out on it. Own it. And then do better next time.( from Hollywire.com... entertainment news)

So the Dodgers blow a golden opportunity and lose a game and an opportunity.  *Sigh.... Remember this gem? You know... the ORIGINAL movie? Movies.com can remind you. Simply put, can't redo a classic. That's what makes it ... classic.

Tomorrow is a whole new game, Boys. Colorado ain't got nothin' on us. Let's do this. I SEE YOU and GO BLUE! GO Dodgers! First pitch 7:10 pm PDT. Sandy Koufax bobble head night. Talk about a classic...! You'd better believe I will be there.
