Breath of Fresh Air for This Dodger Fan

So many opinions... running... through... head....  What a weird game. I'll start there. Puig homers twice and brings in five runs total before the ninth even starts. Dodger pitchers handle Carlos Quentin with kid gloves (wouldn't want him to get hurt or anything). Quentin smacks a home run. Twitter is exploding with #VivaPuig and calls for Puig to be a write-in for the All-Stars. (Really??) Guerrier gets hurt by a come-backer and his x-rays are "negative." (Of COURSE they're negative. Isn't that what x-rays ARE? Negatives? - ok, stupid "joke.") At least in my opinion (this time I gave fair warning), Guerrier  is bullpen-expendable. And if Guerrier had been ejected or suspended for something, at least he wouldn't have ended up on the DL. Heaven knows all you have to do around here is ask Sue Falsone to write a note and you're out of P.E for half the season. To be honest, I keep waiting for Ramirez (again) or even Puig to limp off the field or get the sniffles. And now as I wrote this Brandon League just saved the game. Now THAT'S weird. Look, Puig is good. I like him. I really, really do. But let's be realistic: he's not ready for the All Stars. It's raw talent; he's young and he's got some learning to do. And anyone calling for an Ethier trade is just a fair weathered fan. Puig is a strong starter, but he's excited to be doing well. Ethier is in his head too much IN MY OPINION. He'll be fine. And when Puig settles down (and they always do), or when he hits a slump (and they all do) then what? Will the fans turn on him too? He has had a GREAT FIRST TWO Major League games. Let him enjoy THAT. Let him live in the moment and relish this without placing all the heavy burdens of expectations on him. If we just let him be, then maybe he won't burn out as quickly. And maybe he won't be as psychologically fragile and inclined to go on the DL. Just sayin.' We got the win. Yay! Still lots of work to be done, but it's a nice place to start. Don't mean to be a buzz-kill, but I guess I was just really surprised to see all the hype- are we THAT starved for a hero? (Ok, yes, yes we are...). I'm usually the little "cheerleader." So before we start calling early June 2013 the beginning of the Puig Era (yes, on Twitter), maybe we should just keep cheering him on and let him do what he does best: focus. Awesome seeing Puig tonight in person. Thanks for the saving our you-know-whats, Puig. The fans are extremely grateful. You are indeed a breath of fresh air. Just keep doin' what you're doin', and don't mind us. We wish you the best... now go get 'em! GO Blue!
