Ugh. Just ugh.

This really is ridiculous how much of a struggle this has become to win a game. I'm really not sure how the Dodgers expect to win in Playoffs- or even make it to Playoffs by walking in their runs. It really is as if they wait for the other team to hand it to them. Frankly the excuse that we are missing Ethier and Ramirez is growing weary even for me- I think I started that whine myself. No, all these guys have to do is win a few regular season game and we're in the clear. But they can't even do that. Mattingly has no idea it seems what he is doing with a line up card. Look, yes it stinks that we are missing the lifeline of our line up. But a good manager should be able to overcome that in order to win TWO GAMES. Don't EVEN get me started on the pinch hitting Puig yesterday. Puig? Really? The Pitchers have him figured out so much they pitch around Gonzalez to take their chances with Puig. Good grief. And Kemp tonight??? HIS bat is colder than all of the others put together! Where was Van Slyke?! Or did Donnie forget that we called him up and that he was available to pinch hit? Now, Scott can actually be depended on. But the ole' curse of Donnie Baseball is just getting started. The curse goes something like this: whenever Don Mattingly manages a team in any capacity, the team loses in the playoff rounds or just about the time they are getting close to it. It's called Donnie Baseball. When the Dodgers were on their hot winning streak a lifetime ago (a month or so ago), a picture surfaced of Mattingly with a sarcastic caption: "Still want me fired?" While many a die hard fan sheepishly hung their heads coming off the worst first half of a season in years and said "No..." I stuck to my gut instinct and said "YES!" to no one in the room. Here's why: When we were winning, we were winning not because of Don Mattingly. No. We were winning IN SPITE of Don Mattingly. Our winning streak was a lucky streak. So many of the other Teams had been making asinine mistakes, and we were able to cash in. Were we playing stellar baseball? Nope. Let's be honest folks: we got swept by the Red Sox ... an ACTUAL GOOD Team. And we got swept by the Reds recently. The Reds, who aren't by any stretch of the imagination an AWESOME Team, but they played consistent solid ball while we were in town- something the Dodgers have not mastered. Tonight we scored a run because it was walked in. Our runners get on base, and there they tend to stay. Girl Talk: Watching your Team be managed by a manager who has little to no clue is like watching your best friend get dumped on over and over and over by the same guy. You tell her over and over to get rid of him., but it's no use. A higher power intervenes (the Owners) and keep the Manager and the General Manager in their respective roles. And all you can do is sit back and cry for them because those very same Owners, in all likelihood, do not care.

At this rate, I say we swallow our pride, brace ourselves and get ready to be swept outa the Playoffs first round and  immediately- if not sooner- start mustering up the courage to start working on 2014. Might I suggest a new General Manager and a new Manager to start.
