Now is the Time...to Hope!

Ok, now THAT'S more like it! Now we can relax a little. Ah Betty Grable... an icon...
A 5-1 win over Cleveland. Beckett was great. And Yasiel Puig, our young Cuban outfielder showed some good stuff with a 3 run homer. This is more like it. Let's talk about Puig for a moment. Now, I know he's young and a bit inconsistent. But with the promise he shows, it may just be worth the $42 million for 7 years  the Dodgers paid for him. Here's my question: why not get excited about a young promising player like Puig and start really molding him into the greatness that is his potential? He is strong and able! I get that expectations don't want to be set too high... but then again - wait...why not set them high?? Isn't that what we teach kids in Little League? Reach for the stars!
But then when they stop being kids and grow up, our encouragement wanes...we don't want to get our hopes up too high. So we just let talent like that sit and get average attention from Coaches and the likes while we focus so much energy on those who are trying to recover from surgery? With all due respect, let's spread the wealth of coaching time and energy to those who can benefit from the newness and excitement of it all! Now is the time!

Girl Talk: If a date shows promise, you want to head into it with hopes and imagination, right? And although the other guys waiting in the wings may be great and all, if there is that one who seems to have an instinctual "something,"... don't we want to see more of him? Just think, in the dating world that means he already picks up the tab and opens the door. Now all we have to do is pay more attention to him and he'll figure it out... (men can be fragile at times but given the right encouragement they often come around). Not always, but often.(Ok, in all fairness it was Carrie Bradshaw that had to come around and even then... *sigh...I always preferred Aiden....)
But see...that's the fun of it! The hopes and the excitement and setting our expectations high because we can... and we want to. He could be the one...even if he doesn't turn out to be the one... so much of the fun and thrill is in the hope. And the ...expectation...and the hope....
And that's what this is... the hope.... there I go again....
GO Blue!
